Old Testament Use Of Old Testament
$74.99Old Testament Use of Old Testament, by Gary Schnittjer, surveys the thousands of Old Testament allusions within the Old Testament and provides hermeneutical guidance for interpreting these interrelated scriptures.
The handbook takes an easy to navigate book-by-book approach. Schnittjer provides a list of Scripture allusions for each book and follows with an interpretive profile of how that book uses passages from elsewhere in the Old Testament. Specific criteria are applied to each allusion, providing readers with a categorical “label” that sorts each allusion into a general type. Minor allusions caused by style, figures of speech, and other minor elements are not included.
Responsible exegesis requires careful attention to interrelated scriptures, yet there is a host of interpretive difficulties related to Scripture’s use of Scripture. Designed for ease-of-use for any serious student of the Bible, Old Testament Use of Old Testament offers a thorough, systematic tool to aid in intertextual interpretation.
This dynamic tool equips students of the Bible to:
*Understand how the Old Testament uses the Old Testament
*Easily find the most important Old Testament allusions
*Grasp the complexity of Scripture’s use of Scripture
*Categorize specific allusions into categories
*Gain exegetical insight into the study of interrelated ScripturesAdd to cartin stock within 3-5 days of online purchase

Reading The New Testament As Christian Scripture
$56.99This survey textbook by two respected New Testament scholars is designed to meet the needs of contemporary evangelical undergraduates. The book effectively covers the New Testament books and major topics in the New Testament, assuming no prior academic study of the Bible. The authors pay attention to how the New Testament documents fit together as a canonical whole that supplements the Old Testament to make up the Christian scriptures. They also show how the New Testament writings provide basic material for Christian doctrine, spirituality, and engagement with culture. Chapters can be assigned in any order, making this an ideal textbook for one-semester courses at evangelical schools.
This is the first volume in a new series of survey textbooks that will cover the Old and New Testaments. The book features full-color illustrations that hold interest and aid learning and offers a full array of pedagogical aids: photographs, sidebars, maps, time lines, charts, glossary, and discussion questions. Additional resources for instructors and students are available through Texbook eSources.

The time is ripe for a new account of the life of Jesus. It has been over twenty-five years since an evangelical New Testament scholar has written a textbook survey of this type. Today the landscape of Jesus and Gospel studies has been radically transformed by new questions and critical challenges. No less remarkable is the contemporary renaissance of our knowledge of the world of Jesus. In Jesus the Messiah Robert Stein draws together the results of a career of research and writing on Jesus and the Gospels. Every episode in the life of Jesus is here treated with historical care and attention to its significance for understanding the life and ministry of Jesus. Clearly written, ably argued and geared to the needs of students, Jesus the Messiah will give probing minds a sure grounding in the life and ministry of Jesus.Add to cart1 in stock

AMG Concise Survey Of The Bible
$24.99This edition of G. Campbell Morgan’s work has been compiled from the three volumes published in the early 1900s as The Messages of the Books of the Bible. We at AMG Publishers have made several changes as we have combined these into one volume. This volume contains Morgan’s content for both the Old and New Testaments whereas in the previous publications, the Old Testament was split into two volumes, and the New Testament made the third volume. We also have updated the spelling in accordance with how our language has changed over the years. However, we have not updated the points of current history mentioned by Morgan; readers should note that they are from the turn of the century. Morgan strives to lay out in simple form what he sees to be the message of each book of the Bible, or in some cases, the message of more than one book combined. The one exception to this is the book of Lamentations for which Morgan did not include a chapter. At the beginning of each chapter, he outlines the primary message in the form of a chart, which he follows as he writes the chapter, expounding on his basic points. For the Old Testament, he breaks each book down into “The Permanent Value(s)” and “The Living Message.” His layout for the books of the New Testament contains “The Essential Message” and “The Application.” The charts are a kind of overview for what the reader shall explore in the chapters.
